Getting started

Where to begin? I have wanted to start blogging for some time now, but have been waiting for sure leading and the right time. So today is the right time. I never get any less busy or caught up, but I'm glad to start right now anyway. This seems like a good Sabbath rest activity for me today!

So why do I want to blog? God so often teaches me lessons and gives me beautiful glimpses of himself, and I wish I could share them with people. I regret it whenever the illustrations he shows me are fleeting and I do not have sufficient opportunity to share them with others. Writing a blog can be both a bit of a journal for me, and a chance to share with friends, family, and with anyone else who is interested. Aslan says in Narnia, I think in Prince Caspian (where is the underline button on this thing?) that sometimes a lesson is only meant for the hearer (paraphrase). I know that is so often true, and that what Jesus teaches me is for me certainly; but I hope that lessons and illustrations I learn from Him will also be meaningful and encouraging to others.
